These images were taken in Kyoto, Japan - the only industrialized city that was not bombed during WWII. Therefore many of its ancient temples and gardens still grace the city. These images are meant to evoke the sense of a visual haiku, that is, one simple experience that cannot be described or repeated but nevertheless might make us stop before profound beauty and singularity.
